Testimonials

Cedric Nabe is going to do something important in life.
I've known Cedric for a couple of years now, both in and out of the classroom. In our leadership class, a major goal was to develop a Personal Leadership Action Plan. The objectives were to create a personal definition of leadership; perform an honest self-assessment; establish achievable, long-term goals; and develop standards for measuring achievement. Cedric's plan was the best I received. It was well-thought-out and provided a clear expression of his career and life goals.
The following semester, Cedric took my class,
Technical Communication for Information Technology Professionals. He was one of seven - out of 74 - who received an A. All of his assignments were on time and of the highest quality. He put 100 percent effort into learning the material and completing assignments. Beyond his devotion to his individual work, he stepped up to the challenge and became the informal leader in his group, inspiring his teammates to achieve more than they would have done on their own.
In addition to his coursework, Cedric spoke to me in fall 2007 about his goal to develop an online tracking system for athletes and coaches to provide a better way of monitoring performance and conditioning. He took the initiative to develop his plan, met with me several times during the semester to flesh it out, and moved forward with incredible speed and insight. His efforts paid off: He completed a large portion of the online system on his own time and was awarded a Florida State University Undergraduate Research and Creativity Award to fund additional work over the summer. His tracking system, originally developed for track and field, is currently being adopted by other athletic departments on campus.
Cedric is intelligent, devoted, motivated, and persistent in pursuing his goals. During my 22 years in the Air Force and 1a years as an instructor and dean, I've had the opportunity to work with many outstanding young people: Cedric is in the top one percent.
